New updated version of ModelRisk

We have added a range of powerful new features to all versions of ModelRisk:

  • Two new subjective distributions: TriangleAlt and PertAlt;
  • The ability to plot multiple simulation results together in the same graphs within ModelRisk’s Results Viewer;
  • VBA functions to automate simulation settings, running, creating results viewer charts, reporting to Excel, and setting up and performing optimization runs;
  • The ability to run VBA macros before and/or after a simulation run, and before and/or after each model recalculation;
  • CVAR (conditional value at risk) calculations in simulations and optimizations;
  • Support for various language characters in ModelRisk charts;
  • The ability to export optimization reports to Excel;
  • Several other smaller enhancements.

All ModelRisk users with a current maintenance plan can upgrade to this latest version free of charge. You can always check if you have the latest version of ModelRisk by clicking "Check for updates" in the Welcome screen, or "upgrade licence" in the "About ModelRisk" section under ‘ModelRisk help’ in the ModelRisk ribbon. Special Academic Promotion: One more week

A lot of academic users already made the right decision to do their risk analysis with ModelRisk. If you are an academic, we also want to provide you with the most advanced techniques and features available in risk modeling.
Therefore we are glad to apply a special discount to academic users who also want to model with ModelRisk. The special discount slashes prices for academic licenses even further.
More details on licensing and pricing are available at our academic section. But hurry up, because this discount only runs until 31 May 2010.
All academic orders received before this date will receive the special discount.

ModelRisk 3.0 is ideally suited as a platform to teach and learn risk analysis, probability modeling and optimization:

  • It is an add-in to Excel, minimizing the need to learn a new modeling environment;
  • It incorporates an extensive range of built-in modeling tools with applications in a wide range of fields;
  • It features over 40 different visual interfaces to help the user gain an intuitive feel for the techniques being used;
  • It is supported by an extensive help file covering over 1000 topics in risk analysis, together with over 200 example models. An online version of the help file can be viewed here. Professors are welcome to draw material from the text and examples in the help file to develop their own courses
  • Student, professor and lab licenses are available at very favorable rates
  • Academic licenses have no restrictions or watermarks

Vose Consulting delivered a Quantitative Microbiological Risk Assessment for EFSA using ModelRisk

Vose Consulting used ModelRisk 3.0 to perform a contract with a food safety regulatory agency. The scope of the contract was to carry out a quantitative microbiological risk assessment (QMRA) regarding Campylobacter species in the broiler meat chain from primary production to consumer level. Thanks to some unique functions of ModelRisk, we were able to develop a risk assessment model which could evaluate a large number of interventions through the farm-to-fork continuum and normalise the estimates to the currently observed level of human campylobacteriosis. This is a unique and powerful approach to QMRA: the model’s outputs are less sensitive to any assumptions or statistical uncertainty in parameter estimates, leading to more robust quantitative results.

In addition, we have recently been awarded a second service contract to perform a quantitative microbiological risk assessment of Salmonella species in broiler (Gallus gallus) meat production. The aim of the contract is to develop and carry out a QMRA that characterises the public health impact of different prevalence levels and target serovars of Salmonella species in broiler flocks.

Come and meet us

In an effort to get to understand the needs of our clients current and prospective, we have started to offer informal receptions where we chat about risk analysis, meet fellow risk professionals and enjoy a drink without any sales pitches or speeches.
If you are interested in meeting us and other risk professionals, send an email to reception@vosesoftware.com so we can put your city in our calendar.
