Dear ModelRisk academic user,

ModelRisk is used by over 450 universities around the world. We already offer very generous discounts to academic users, but with such a large academic user base we thought it is time to do much more. Therefore we are now offering a Teaching Pack.

Teaching Pack

David Vose has over twenty years of experience in teaching risk analysis courses to businesses, government agencies and professional bodies. He has also taught risk analysis courses at postgraduate level in many universities around the world including Harvard, Imperial College, Nottingham, Otago, Wellington, Uppsala, Rio de Janeiro, Kyoto, Guelph and Knoxville. David’s courses are extremely popular and consistently receive rave reviews from participants’ despite the technical nature of the subject. He achieves this through an informal, interactive and humorous style, by his intuitive and visual way of teaching, and by providing practical examples that reflect the experience and interests of the participants.

Why have so many professors switched to ModelRisk?

The most popular reasons teachers have given for switching to ModelRisk for their risk analysis courses are:

  1. All editions of ModelRisk include conversion tools for @RISK and Crystal Ball models. This dramatically reduces the effort to switch a course you have already developed to ModelRisk. We can also convert models for you for a very modest fee.
  2. If you are teaching the basics of risk analysis, or Monte Carlo simulation, you only need the Standard Edition of ModelRisk which is completely free and downloadable directly from our web site here.
  3. If your course is more advanced, you will find that the Industrial Edition of ModelRisk offers a far greater range of tools than any competitor (you can see for yourself by reviewing the independent comparison on Wikipedia). The lab, student and professor licenses we offer in our academic program are fully-functioning copies of ModelRisk Industrial.
  4. The ModelRisk help file is very extensive, providing a wealth of teaching and studying material and comes with a unique reference system that makes it extremely simple to provide students with a study program. It also includes over 100 example models that can be used in class.
  5. Our web site provides plenty of video tutorials that you can make reference to. These tutorials will show your students how to use the ModelRisk software, so you can focus on teaching the concepts of risk analysis.
